Introducing the German Information Centre (GIC) Southeast Asia

After much anticipation the German Information Centre (GIC) Southeast Asia went online in January this year. As a public diplomacy initiative of Germany’s Federal Foreign Office, it shows the growing importance of Cambodia and Southeast Asia as a market for German businesses. The new focus on this region and the ASEAN group has been laid down already in 2020 when the German Government adopted its policy guidelines on the Indo‑Pacific.

GIC aims to share information and perspectives that embody the spirit of cooperation between Germany and countries in Southeast Asia on politics, business, education, research, and culture. Cambodian businesses searching for news on German policies, trading practices and opportunities may discover relevant information here. Vice-versa, GIC will put Southeast Asia on the map for German businesses and Investors, opening the door to new opportunities.

Follow GIC Southeast Asia on their official Facebook page for latest insights into foreign policy in the region, new business opportunities for startups and SMEs, as well as information on climate change, Industrie 4.0, smart societies as well as joint projects between Germany and Southeast Asia, including Cambodia.
