As of 2024, the Business Scouts for Development Programme – formerly known as Global Business Network Programme (GBN) – has been incorporated into the GIZ Agency for Business and Economic Development under the umbrella of the Partners in Transformation Business & Development Network. Under this new name, it continues to promote sustainable business in Cambodia and other countries. Funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), the program is being implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH in close cooperation with GBC and the network of German Chambers of Commerce Abroad (AHK). The program supports and advises German/European and Cambodian companies and produces papers with relevant market information.

On the occasion of the 1st Asia-Europe Economic and Business Forum (1st AEEBF), a major side event to the 13th ASEM Summit, the initial six brochures have been combined into one comprehesive special edition. The 1st AEEBF was held virtually on 24 November 2021.

The 2024 Guidebook on Alternative Manufacturing and Special Economic Zones (SEZs) in Cambodia has been published by EuroCham as part of a grant provided by the Business Scouts for Development Programme of Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH. It serves as a comprehensive reference for entrepreneurs, investors, and industry stakeholders who seek to delve into the realm of alternative manufacturing within the context of Cambodia’s SEZs. It provides a wealth of information on the legal and regulatory frameworks, investment incentives, and infrastructure facilities available within these zones.

The Funding Database for Developing Countries put together on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) is now online. It provides a quick overview of the funding mechanisms available to support local entrepreneurial projects. Using the filter, you can quickly identify which solutions (loans, grants or tender opportunities) are relevant to your project, sector, target country and needs. The database includes funding programmes offered by a wide range of organisations, e.g. development cooperation agencies, foreign trade promotion bodies, the EU and various multinational institutions. The database is only available in German.

Cambodia market directory

The Cambodia market directory was published by ADW, GIZ and GTAI. Readers get a brief overview about general political and economic conditions as well as valuable insights from several business sectors.

The now discontinued GIZ Länderinformationsportal Kambodscha was an online resource with detailed information about economic, political, social, and cultural characteristics of Cambodia. It addressed anybody keen to develop a comprehensive understanding of Cambodia.
