Germany and Cambodia to sign agreements worth 41.45 million EUR

The governments of Germany and Cambodia will hold a ceremony on 9th March 2016 to sign new agreements on development cooperation worth 41.54 million EUR. The signing will take place at the Council for the Development of Cambodia.

During the bi-annual intergovernmental negotiations in Berlin on 1st and 2nd December 2015, the Federal Republic of Germany agreed to provide the Royal Government of Cambodia with a grant amount of 36.74 million EUR for bilateral technical and financial cooperation for the years 2015 and 2016. Additional 4.80 million EUR are provided from the BMZ special initiative ‘One World – no Hunger’.

Out of this grant amount, Germany will invest in programmes and projects in the priority areas health and rural development as well as in the cross-cutting area of good governance.

With this new commitment the total volume of bilateral technical and financial cooperation amounts to 393.66 million EUR over the past 25 years.
