Business Opportunity for Packaging Producers – Meet the Challenge!

Call for Sustainable Packaging Solutions from Cambodia and beyond

Every year, millions of discarded bags, boxes, wrappings and containers end up in landfills, where plastics can take up to 1000 years to decompose. We believe that we can do better!

If you are a packaging manufacturer from Cambodia or neighboring regions who cares for the environment, we invite you to join the call to design a sustainable packaging solution while tapping a new business opportunity at the same time!

Are you up for the challenge? As part of our Sustainable Packaging Competition, the company Pepper Hill is currently looking for your ideas and packaging solutions to replace the plastic barrels it has been using for its salted fermented pepper with more sustainable packaging materials. Find out what they are looking for:

  • Reusable packaging from sustainable materials
  • 40-50 kg of packaging content per unit (alternatively: 20kg in boxes)
  • Airtight packaging
  • No leakage of salt brine
  • Dimension: should be stackable on pallets (0,0454cbm/20kg)
  • Desired material: fully recyclable / preferred reusable

Tough Challenge?

Find out about additional packaging solutions that Pepper Hill and its parent company are looking for which are also supported by the Sustainable Packaging Challenge here.

Present your packaging solution to Pepper Hill during an online presentation at this year’s Waste Summit Cambodia on September 3rd, 2021, and win support from our country and packaging specialists!

What we offer:

The winner company will be fully supported with product development, testing and certification to supply Pepper Hill with a packaging solution that fully matches its requirements. Once your product meets the criteria you will sign a contract/agreement with the buyer Pepper Hill.

The project is implemented by GIZ and AHK Myanmar and is funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).
