Since 1997, the Asia Pacific Weeks (APW) is Europe’s unique platform for interdisciplinary dialogue and cooperation between Asia and Europe. As in the past, experts from the fast-growing and high-tech affine regions of Asia-Pacific come to the German capital to discuss their perspectives with local representatives. This year, the APW take place from May 15th to 28th and focuses on digitalization.
According to the hosts, the central events of the 12th APW are concentrated in the first week. Experts and players from Europe and Asia will discuss the status quo and trends of digitalization, interdisciplinary possibilities of its use as well as visionary innovations. During the second week, visitors will have the chance to participate in a variety of cultural events, shows, and exhibitions. As one part of the Asia-Pacific Weeks Berlin 2017, the “Connecting Startup Cities Conference” (May 17-19) connects startup enthusiasts from the Asia-Pacific regions, Berlin and Europe in an international and interdisciplinary dialogue. The conference sets a platform for knowledge exchange, networking & matchmaking as well as the interface for the initiation and development of international relations – Asia meets Europe. Creating an environment open for creativity, discussion and intercultural exchange the event exceeds the usual.
The kickoff conference on the topic of “Digitalization” and everything it entails – from Fintech, the development of Smart Cities to high technologies that change the world, Robotic, Artificial Intelligence and cyber-security. The subjects focused upon will be discussed in panels, keynotes, Ignite Talks and interactive formats like workshops, Match&Make or Pitch Sessions. Participants not only learn more about relevant subjects but get to experience the world of tomorrow and its evidence in the here and now. Satellite events all around Berlin – famous for having one of the strongest startup ecosystems worldwide offering an intriguing and diverse setting for innovative minds – held by individual partners on the third day give insight into the applicability of digital innovations.
