German sportswear group Adidas and partners offer scholarships and career development for Cambodians with engineering degree.

The German sportswear group Adidas and its suppliers together with The Hinrich Foundation have formed a partnership with the objective to help develop the next generation of manufacturing leaders in Cambodia and Myanmar through academic scholarships and practical skills training.The partners believe that education is key to human and economic development, and local leaders are critical to sustainable manufacturing growth in each market. Adidas suppliers provide internships and career training to help the scholars to acquire advanced manufacturing excellence in the sporting goods industry.

For the academic year 2016, the partners offer a full scholarship to Cambodian citizens for a “Master of Science in Global Production Engineering and Management”. Successful candidates will be sponsored 100% of study costs – tuition fees, room & board, living allowance, insurance, visa and airfares for a 2-year master study at the Vietnamese-German University (VGU) in Vietnam. The two-year course includes a 6-month internship at an Adidas supplier company and comes with an attractive career opportunity: Upon graduation, scholars will work for 3 years for an Adidas supplier in Cambodia.

Applicants must be Cambodian or Myanmar citizens and should preferably have a Bachelor degree in Engineering or related fields. An IELTS of 6.0 or above or a master’s-level English is required.
Prior to the deadline on June 15, 2016, The Hinrich Foundation offers an information session to learn about the scholarship and other career opportunities on May 21st, 2016 at 8:30 AM at Cambodia Japan Cooperation Center (CJCC) – RUPP-CJCC, Confederation de la Russie, Phnom Penh.
