German companies present projects at Cambodia Circular Economy Forum
The Cambodia Circular Economy Forum was held from September 9th to 11th 2024 in Phnom Penh and featured the three German companies everwave GmbH, ECOLOGICON GmbH and atmosfair gGmbH. The three representatives shared insights into their planned and ongoing projects in the country, ranging from waste cleanups in rivers and battery takeback schemes to biomass projects for green energy.

Cambodia pushes for European investment
From June 10-13, a high-level company delegation led by Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister H.E. Sun Chanthol embarked on a journey to Europe to promote investment opportunities in Cambodia. In Germany the delegation held meetings with several important political and private sector stakeholders.

German Companies from Vietnam explore Cambodian Market
A German company delegation from neighbouring Vietnam visited Phnom Penh from May 9 to 11 to connect with high-level local political and private sector stakeholders, conduct site visits, and take part in joint networking activities. The delegation trip highlighted Cambodia’s potential as a so-called Vietnam Plus One investment destination, provided the new government persists in pursuing its current commitments.

Successfully Promoting Cambodia in Germany
Spotlighting Cambodia as both a sourcing market as well as a potential investment destination was the objective of several events that were hosted in Germany in April by local business chambers (IHKs) in collaboration with German Business Cambodia and German development agency GIZ. This included roundtables in Stade and Düsseldorf, as well as the NRW ASEAN Summit in Bielefeld and a sourcing and sales event in Hamburg.

Häfele opens subsidiary in Cambodia
After having been distributed in the Cambodian market for more than a decade, leading German specialist for hardware and fitting systems Häfele has opened a subsidiary in Phnom Penh. As part of its regionalisation strategy, the company is carrying out pioneering work in developing markets such as Cambodia to build up close relationships with local partners.

Introducing ImpactConnect – Loans for EU companies in Asia
Since 2024, the program formerly known as AfricaConnect has been extended globally and now also encompasses developing and emerging countries in Asia under the new name ImpactConnect. Financed by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), it provides German and European companies with attractive loans for investment projects that have an impact on development in these economies, including Cambodia.

German BMZ State Secretary Flasbarth visits Cambodia
